P, a colleague, gave me a cardboard box full of junk: electronic waste, bits of plastic and plumbing, a toilet seat, medicine bottles, furniture parts; and asked me to make something of it all that he could paint on.
The toilet seat seemed like the madonna's head and led to the rest of the piece. The madonna's heart is made of glass bottles that P. melted in his wood-burning stove where they melded with the nails from the wood he burns.
